The Quest:
The company had identified that its business needed to nurture leadership talent internally in order to continue its phenomenal business growth worldwide. It needed to equip these already identified rising stars with the leadership qualities that would not only help sustain this high performing company but expand its opportunities internationally.
The Route
A Management Stars programme was developed and rolled out spanning a 12 month period. This modular series of 2 and 3 day events took place at various locations around the world and participants often became the international host to their colleagues on the programme. The cross cultural learning was as important as the content covered and the global relationships that were fostered were purposeful in supporting the businesses global expansion plans. Well researched and modern material for this programme was vital if this, the fasting growing business of its type in the world, was to successfully develop its future leaders. From 360 leadership behaviour tools to individual coaching, and from facilitated sessions to presentations and feedback, this programme was a powerful mix of methodologies, research, on-going coursework and business improvement projects.
The Outcomes:
It was a very challenging, provocative but a very supportive programme for them to experience. At times emotional, as you would expect of any challenge worth doing, the participants showcased a camaraderie rarely seen in a leadership programme. Their chosen on-course projects in terms of commercial value runs into £millions to date but more importantly they have become the role-models the CEO wanted. Many have been promoted as this article was being written.
